Photo Thoughts Part 8: Lazy Cat

This is the essence of Cookie. Ever since he was a kitten (shown here at six weeks of age), he has been a lazy, sleepy kitten. Too lazy to fend off the dog, and sleepy enough to be lying on the chair right now by the table, fast asleep.

It's Duke who drags up mice and rats, among other things. The cat wanders around, fends for himself at night and while we're away, and then stays inside during the day while we're home. Because he won't keep the dog away from his food, so he has to have it inside or starve.

He's a gentle soul, but still a kitten. He can be crazy one minute and asleep the next, crashed on the floor. And he is quite lazy. He's not very good at cleaning up in the litter box, often scraping the wall instead of the litter. It gets pretty annoying.

Cookie enjoys curling up on or beside people, and does pretty well when Yance wants to clobber him. He also likes to knead us and has a terrible time getting the hint when we want him to leave.

But his favorite hobbies are sleeping and eating. And stealing off the counter when no one is watching. He's lazy.

This post is up kinda late, because I've been working on setting up the book for publishing. It is finally in the file review stage on CreateSpace, and once that is complete it will be ready for publishing.

Yance has a tooth! That's right. On Monday, it finally showed up, and the one beside it is ready to come through at any minute. He hasn't been too fussy about it, though. Must've inherited my pain tolerance level.

We also have a wood stove, given by my family, so that's a project we need to get on pretty soon. Wiring for putting a freezer outside, cutting holes for the chimney, getting what's left that we need, and also fixing the car makes our schedule look pretty hectic at the moment. That is, if we actually get around to doing any of that. We still haven't gotten replacement parts for the car.

Yesterday was LONG... D was gone from the house for a total of fourteen and a half hours. The sun hadn't yet rose when he left (it was pre-dawn), and it had long since set by the time he was home. Yance and I spent a good part of the evening with Ma.

Duke is being super bored and dragging stuff up from everywhere, so we're considering getting another dog. Jack is slowly putting on weight, like he should be. Yance keeps on growing. And me, I'm excited to be having the book in the works - and am also trying to line stuff up for hubby's birthday next month. Next up on my project list, however, is compiling all the Canva stuff needed for November, and then writing those posts. Writing the posts is easy - finding what to write about so that you know what you need for Canva (and then selecting the right photo for that...) is hard.

But I am looking forward to NaNoWriMo! I will reveal the release date for A.P. Indy in two weeks, so watch out!

And since I have previously featured the "Les Miserables" book, here is the Christmas 2012 film, featuring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Eddie Redmayne, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Samantha Barks, Sacha Baron Cohen, Helena Bonham Carter, and Aaron Tveit, among others. It is the only movie that I have seen that I wanted to turn around and see it again right after leaving the theater. The only movie.

And boy, do I love Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, and Aaron Tveit as Enjolras. Russell Crowe's singing as Javert could use some work, but it wasn't too bad. And Samantha Barks was excellent as Eponine, but then, she's had lots of practice in that role!

And for $10, this movie can be yours. I don't own it, but I did gift it to Kmarie at Christmas one year.

I loved how they blended elements from the book and stage musical into the movie, even creating a whole new song for a scene not featured in the musical. And having the most famous stage Valjean play the priest is a heartwarming part. It is worth every penny spent - and more.
