Hello, y'all! This is my first blog under my new name.
I have recently married, and decided to start a new blog.
I was born in Canada, and moved down to Texas eleven years ago. Since last spring, when I met the love of my life, I have married him and moved to near Louisiana. I have one fourteen year old pinto mare, one year-old white tomcat, and one amazing husband who encourages me to see my dreams come true. Where I live, there are five horses, one who is due in a month or two, and two cats, one of which is seen every now and then.
Our life is filled with gun shows and "Civil War" reenacting, horses and cows, and hunting and God.


I plan to post once a week.
I am working on a western, but who knows how long it will take to finish. With my beloved's help, though, it will be my first published novel!

Today I change course a little. Today, I focus less on my other passions and transform this blog into telling of how I juggle being a mom with those passions - horseback riding and training, this blog, and horse racing... and being a wife. As I write this, my eleven-week-old son is sitting next to me, grinning and chatting. Last weekend, he enjoyed being passed around from aunt to uncle and grandparent to grandparent, and meeting two people he had never seen before - my best friend and her father. Right now, Yance sleeps about six and a half hours a night and gets fed six times a day. Woken for each meal, he spends an hour to an hour and a half awake (including meal time), and then he gets tired and cranky and put to bed. The only exception is for his morning meal, at 5:30. Accidents Happen

Quite the post title, huh? Well, I didn't quite get photos of all the horses, but here are the ones I did get.... Sneaky, who I've been training for the past couple weeks Windy, who still hasn't dropped her foal by the stallion above And the ones my husband got! Sue, the pinto, and Mandy, the black with her head behind Sue's withers L-R-Jack, Sue (butt angle, grrr), Kaylene, and Sneaky... Not sure where Mandy is Well, since last weekend's post I have... Basically, survived another week without air conditioning (pretty easy for me; I'm used to it, now) And survived a freak accident with Sneaky that I don't remember. He is pretty intelligent, but that day, when we were starting to train him to be ridden, something happened in his head and he panicked and fell, knocking me out. First Anniversary - Reflections

In two days, my beloved and I are going to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. It’s been a busy, eventful year. The adventure began two years ago, when we both were hauled to a “mini-shindig”, put on by homeschooling families to let like-minded people meet and enjoy each others’ company. Neither of us were looking for prospective spouses. But by the grace of God, and some meddling by D’s father, we met and hit it off so well that it wasn’t long before we were in a budding friendship. Unfortunately, neither of us had bothered to ask for contact info before parting ways, so I was certain we’d never meet again, or at least it would be a very long time before we saw each other. That deflated the moment. But, a couple weeks later, he, his sister, and his father came out for a party I was throwing.
