Photo Thoughts Part 14: Ten Months of Crazy

Yance turned ten months old this week, and it has been a crazy ride. There have been a lot of battles as he tries to cry his way to what he wants, or simply cry because he wants to. But overall, he's had a wild initial ten months.

He had a pet cat for a while, and a bad cough for several months. Midget absolutely loved the boy, but wouldn't use the litter box consistently so he had to go outside and ended up dead of unknown causes.

After the cough spell he proved to be healthy as could be, if a little small, though he was growing like a weed. That stalled out after about eight months, and although he eats everything in sight (except green beans unless they're covered in meat), he is taking his sweet time with growth. He is healthy and strong, with little rolls on his arms and legs and a bit of a belly.

He sits up, crawls, climbs, stands with the help of whatever he can find, and walks with help. He loves his Christmas toys, and if we lose something he is sure to find it. His favorite place in the house is the wood pile, and his feet and knees are constantly caked with dirt from it.

One of his favorite toys is the mega block collection. There are some scattered all over the house!

I can't believe that he will be a year old in a couple of months. Hopefully by then he'll have taken his first steps on his own, have four or five teeth, and fit size four diapers. He's been in these size threes for four or five months now.

Yancey Lane Baker is a blessing, even if sometimes I wish I could run away. I love you, little boy.
